(Redwood City, CA) On April 3, the San Mateo County Registration & Elections Division will begin mailing ballots for the May 4, 2021 Portola Valley School District Special Mail Ballot Election to registered voters. This mailing will also contain the Voter Information Pamphlet for the special election, which will only include one measure.
The Registration & Elections Division at 40 Tower Road, San Mateo, CA, will serve as the sole Vote Center opening Monday, April 5.
Hours of operation for voting beginning on April 5 are as follows:
- Monday, April 5, 2021, through Monday, May 3, 2021
8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Weekdays) - Tuesday, May 4, 2021 (Election Day)
7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Vote by Mail Ballots Mailed
April 3 is the first day that Vote by Mail ballots will be mailed to every registered voter participating in this special election. Voters can confirm their current registration status online at www.smcvote.org by clicking on the “My Election Info” button.
Voters are encouraged to check the status of their ballot by signing up for alerts at any of the links below:
- “Where’s My Ballot?” from when it is sent to you until it is received and counted. Sign up at WheresMyBallot.sos.ca.gov.
- My Election Info on www.smcvote.org to confirm when the San Mateo County Registration & Elections Division received and accepted your voted ballot.
The Registration & Elections Division offers a toll-free hotline, 888.SMC.VOTE (888.762.8683).
To be counted, mailed ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day, May 4, 2021, and received no later than Friday, May 7, 2021.
Voters interested in having replacement Vote by Mail ballots should make the request by April 27, 2021, to ensure the ballots arrive on or before Election Day.
