(Redwood City, CA) – Mark Church, Chief Elections Officer & Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder of San Mateo County, announced today that the Registration & Elections Division is seeking Election workers for the March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary Election. Election worker’s pay ranges from $22.59 to $30.33 an hour.  

Short-term paid positions are available to help conduct the election. These include:
Vote by Mail Ballot Processing (Office Assistants $22.59 an hour)
Election Materials Proofreaders – Filipino ($30.33 an hour)
Warehouse and Field Technicians ($28.25 an hour)
Vote Center Representatives ($23.89 an hour)  

There will be a hiring event held on October 24, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., via Zoom featuring on-the-spot interviews. To participate, submit your application as instructed in the job announcements.

Applicants should plan to have access to a computer with video conferencing capabilities for the hiring events. Computer access is available for free at any San Mateo County Library.  

Typical office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Some positions may require working overtime, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.    

Fluency in English, as well as Burmese, Cantonese, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish and/or Tagalog/Filipino is preferred for Vote Center Representatives but not required.
