Redwood City, CA – San Mateo County Chief Elections Officer, Mark Church, issued the official public notice for the upcoming Nov. 8 Consolidated Municipal, School and Special District Election and announced the opening of the Candidate Filing period for 44 local jurisdictions on the ballot.
“The future and livelihood of the County depends upon the willingness of responsible leaders who step forward to offer themselves in service to the public,” said Church.
The 44 jurisdictions with candidate elections on the November 8, 2011 ballot include 13 cities, 14 school districts, and 17 special districts with contests to fill governing board positions.
For candidates seeking local elected office, the filing period will open at 8:00 a.m. on July 18 and will close at 5:00 p.m. on August 12. For offices without an eligible incumbent seeking re-election, the candidate filing period will be extended another five (5) calendar days and will close at 5:00 p.m. on August 17.
