(Redwood City, CA) San Mateo County Chief Elections Officer Mark Church announced that the 10-day public review period for the local ballot measure for the June 23, 2020 County Service Area No. 1 Special Mail Ballot Election will open at 5 p.m. on March 27. The public review period gives voters an opportunity to review and challenge the language of measures, arguments, and impartial analyses before they are published in the Voter Information Guide.

This review period is the first of three separate public review periods that occur in relation to the June 23, 2020 County Service Area No. 1 Special Mail Ballot Election. All review periods will begin at 5 p.m. on their respective opening date.

All measures, arguments, and impartial analyses will be available for online review at www.smcacre.org/elections. Due to the County’s Shelter-In-Place Order, in-person reviews are available by appointment only Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at:

Public Review Period Schedules

March 27 – April 6
For ballot measures filed by the filing deadline of March 27 at 5 p.m., the public review period ends on April 6 at 5 p.m.

April 3 – April 13
Primary arguments for and against ballot measures.

April 13 – April 23
Rebuttal arguments for and against primary arguments and impartial analyses for each ballot measure.

During each 10-day public review period, registered voters may seek a judicial writ of mandate or injunction in a contest for which they are eligible to vote, requiring any or all materials to be amended or deleted. The request for a writ of mandate or injunction shall be filed no later than the end of the review period.
