Effective June 15, 2021, County Clerk-Recorder Division Services are available to the public by appointment.  Walk-in visitors are welcome subject to time and space availability.

Business hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Face coverings are required, and social distancing will be enforced.

Online Services Include:

Online Marriage Licenses & Virtual Marriage Ceremonies
The San Mateo County Clerk Division is offering online marriage licenses in conjunction with a virtual marriage ceremony based on “as needed” basis or emergency only. Please email CountyClerk@smcacre.org with your name and phone number to schedule an appointment. A member of the County Clerk-Recorder Division will be contacting you for further assistance.

E-Recordings
Electronic recordings by title companies will continue as usual. Documents can also be mailed to the office at 555 County Center, First Floor, Redwood City, CA 94063.
