Voting Period Begins October 7 for the November 5 Consolidated Municipal, School and Special District Election
Two Voting Centers will be open and Vote by Mail ballots will be mailed

(Redwood City, CA) Mark Church, San Mateo County’s Chief Elections Officer & Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder, announced that Monday, October 7 is the first day of the early voting period for the November 5, 2013 Consolidated Municipal, School and Special District Election. The early voting period is from October 7 through November 4, 2013.  

“As a convenience, voters may come to one of our two Voting Centers to cast their ballots or drop off their voted mail ballots,” Church stated. “Those interested in casting their ballot during the early voting period have the option to vote on an electronic voting machine or by paper ballot at our Voting Centers,” he added. 

The Voting Centers for the November Election are located at:

  • Registration & Elections Division, 40 Tower Road, San Mateo
  • 555 County Center, First Floor, Redwood City

Hours of operation for the two Voting Centers are as follows:

  • Monday, October 7 to Monday, November 4: (Weekdays) 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, November 2: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, November 5 (Election Day): 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The early voting period also marks the first day that Vote by Mail ballots will be sent out to those registered as permanent or one-time Vote by Mail voters in the county.

Vote by Mail voters may use the “Track and Confirm” tool on to verify when the ballot materials were mailed and when the Registration & Elections Division received their voted ballot.

Voted mail ballots must be physically received no later than 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, November 5, in order for the ballots to be counted. Voters may mail in the voted ballot or deliver it in person to a Voting Center or city hall in the county.  As well, on Election Day, voted mail ballots may be dropped off at any active polling place in the county until 8:00 p.m.
