Voters will elect the next member of the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors representing District 1 from the six candidates on the ballot. The election is ‘winner-take-all’ so the candidate with the most votes will win. There will be no runoff election. In addition to the open seat on the Board of Supervisors, three school districts are seeking voter approval for parcel tax measures to support their schools — Jefferson Union High School District, Ravenswood City School District and San Carlos School District. The measures require a 2/3 vote for passage.
Official election results will be certified and reported at the conclusion of the Canvass, no later than May 31, 2011, when a complete audit of the election will have been conducted.
