(Redwood City, CA) Today, Mark Church, Chief Elections Officer & Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder for the County of San Mateo, officially certified the election results for the November 2, 2021 Special Election.

Voters in the Menlo Park City School District passed a parcel tax measure with the required 2/3s majority needed, with 6,022 or 74.37% in favor. Of the 18,093 registered voters, 8,101 or 44.77%, voted on the measure.

Voters in the Town of Woodside narrowly passed an initiative amending municipal code to allow parking and community gathering spots on residentially zoned parcels within and adjacent to the Town Center. With 1,160 or 50.11% voting in favor, the initiative, which required majority approval, was passed. Of the 4,270 registered voters in Woodside, 2,316 or 54.24%, voted on the measure.

Nearly all ballots cast in this election, 97.90% were Vote by Mail ballots; 219 voters elected to visit a 30-Day Vote Center or one of two additional Election Day Vote Centers.

The results of the election are certified upon completion of the Canvass of the Vote during the 30 days following an election, which includes a One Percent Manual Tally of the votes to confirm the accuracy of the results.
