10-Day Public Review Periods for the May 4, 2021 Special Mail Ballot Election

(Redwood City, CA) San Mateo County Chief Elections Officer Mark Church announced that the first of three 10-day public review periods for the local measure for the May 4, 2021 Special Mail Ballot Election will end on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. The public review period gives voters an opportunity to review and challenge the language of measures, arguments and impartial analyses before they are published in the Voter Information Guide.
This review period is the first of three separate public review periods that occur in relation to the May 4, 2021 Special Mail Ballot Election. All review periods will begin at 5 p.m. on their respective opening date.
All measures, arguments and impartial analyses will be available for online review at www.smcacre.org/elections. Due to the County’s Shelter In Place Order, in-person reviews are available by appointment only Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at:

Public Review Period Schedules
February 5 – February 16
- For measure resolutions, ballot questions and full texts
February 12 – February 22
- For primary arguments in favor of and against measures
February 22 – March 4
- For rebuttal arguments to primary arguments in favor of and against measures and impartial analyses
During each 10-day public review period, registered voters may seek a judicial writ of mandate or injunction in a contest for which they are eligible to vote, requiring any or all materials to be amended or deleted. The request for writ of mandate or injunction shall be filed no later than the end of the review period.
