(Redwood City, CA) On January 23, the San Mateo County Registration & Elections Division will begin mailing the Sample Ballot & Voter Information Pamphlet for the March 3, 2020 Presidential Primary Election to registered voters.

“The Sample Ballot & Official Voter Information Pamphlet provides a wealth of information to voters on candidates, measures, and voter services for the upcoming March 3, 2020 Presidential Primary Election,” said Mark Church, Chief Elections Officer and Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder. “The voter pamphlet will be provided to all eligible voters in the language indicated in their voter registration,” added Church.

Voters may also view their voter pamphlet online in either PDF or accessible format by visiting www.smcvote.org and clicking “My Election Info.”

Visually impaired voters may request a copy of the County’s Sample Ballot & Official Voter Information Pamphlet on audiotape by calling the Registration & Elections Division at 888.SMC.VOTE (888.762.8683). A screen-readable version of the pamphlet can be accessed by visiting www.smcvote.org and clicking “My Election Info.”

Voters may join our Go Green! Program to view their pamphlets online only. Voters can sign up by clicking on the “Sign Up for Go Green!” button at www.smcvote.org. After signing up, they will no longer be mailed a paper copy of the pamphlet and will be notified by email when their pamphlet is available.

All-Mailed Ballot – Vote Center Election Model for the March 3, 2020 Presidential Primary Election
The March 3, 2020 Presidential Primary Election will be the fourth election San Mateo County conducts under the California Voter’s Choice Act (VCA) model. It is the first Presidential Primary Election to be held under the VCA.

Traditional polling places have been replaced by Vote Centers, which will be open for voting for an extended period, and which will offer expanded voter services, including voter registration, multilingual assistance, and disabled access voting options. Every registered voter will also receive a Vote by Mail Ballot, which voters can return with no postage required in any mailbox or into secure county ballot drop boxes located throughout the county.
