Mailing to Include Official Ballot and Voter Information Pamphlet

(Redwood City, CA) On May 26, the San Mateo County Registration & Elections Division will mail ballots for the June 23, 2020 Special Mail Ballot Election to registered voters in County Service Area 1. This mailing will also contain the Voter Information Pamphlet for this special election, which will only include one measure.

The Registration & Elections Division at 40 Tower Road, San Mateo, CA, will serve as the sole Vote Center opening Tuesday, May 26 (the office will be closed on Monday, May 25, for Memorial Day).

Hours of operation for voting beginning on May 26 are as follows:

  • Monday through Friday, May 26, 2020 through June 22, 2020
    8 am to 5 pm (Daily)
  • Tuesday, June 23, 2020 (Election Day)
    7 am to 8 pm

Vote by Mail Ballots Mailed
May 26 is the first day that Vote by Mail ballots will be mailed to every registered voter participating in this special election. Registered voters can confirm their current registration status online at www.smcvote.org by clicking on the “My Election Info” button. The latest county registration statistics (updated biweekly) are available under “Voter Registration.”

Voters are encouraged to check My Election Info on www.smcvote.org to confirm when the Registration & Elections Division received and accepted their voted ballot.

The Registration & Elections Division offers a toll-free hotline, 888.SMC.VOTE (888.762.8683), in English, Spanish, Chinese, Burmese, Hindi, Japanese, Korean and Tagalog.

To be counted, mailed ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day, June 23, 2020, and received no later than Friday, June 26, 2020.

 Voters interested in having replacement Vote by Mail ballots should make the request by June 16, 2020, to ensure the ballots arrive on or before Election Day. 

Voters may also view their Voter Information Pamphlet online in either PDF or accessible format by visiting www.smcvote.org and clicking “My Election Info.”

Voters with visual impairments may access a screen-readable version of the pamphlet by visiting www.smcvote.org and clicking “My Election Info.”

Voters may join our Go Green! Program to view their pamphlets online only. Voters can sign up by clicking on the “Sign Up for Go Green!” button at www.smcvote.org. After signing up, they will no longer be mailed a paper copy of the pamphlet and will be notified by email when their pamphlet is available.
