(Redwood City, CA) Mark Church, San Mateo County’s Chief Elections Officer & Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder, announced today that the early voting period for the November 3, 2015 Consolidated Municipal, School and Special District All-Mailed Ballot Election will begin Monday, October 5 and continue through November 2, 2015.

While this is an All-Mailed Ballot Election and voters are encouraged to vote by mail using the postage paid envelopes provided, voters will also have opportunities to vote early through the use of our Voting Centers.

“Providing an opportunity to vote early makes casting a ballot more convenient and accessible,” Church stated.  “This gives voters the flexibility to pick the time and place to vote in person or return a voted mail ballot,” he added.

Registered voters from any precinct will be able to vote in person, request a replacement ballot, or drop off their voted ballot at one of our two Voting Centers.

The Voting Centers for the November Election are located at:

Registration & Elections Division
40 Tower Road
San Mateo, CA 94402

Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder
555 County Center, 1st Floor
Redwood City, CA 94063

Hours of operation for our Voting Centers are as follows:

Monday, October 5 to Monday, November 2 (Weekdays): 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Saturday, October 31: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Tuesday, November 3 (Election Day): 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

October 5, 2015 also marks the first day that Vote by Mail Official Ballots will be sent out to all registered voters in the county.

The ballots will be entered into the US Postal Service system on October 5, 2015, but the date voters will receive their ballots will depend on local delivery service.  If a voter has not received their ballot by October 16, they should contact the Registration & Elections Division.

Registered voters may use the “Check My Registration/Access my Election Materials/View My Voter Information Pamphlet” link under the “Voters” section on www.shapethefuture.org to verify when ballot materials were mailed and when the Registration & Elections Division received their voted ballot.

Voted mail ballots can only be accepted if they are postmarked on or before Election Day, November 3, 2015 and received by Friday, November 6.  Voters may mail in the voted ballot or deliver it in person to a Voting Center or any City Hall in the county.  Voted mail ballots may be dropped off at any Universal Polling Place in the county until 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
