(Redwood City, CA) Today, the May 5, 2015 San Carlos School District Parcel Tax Special All-Mail Ballot Election results were certified by Mark Church, Chief Elections Officer & Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder.           

“The final count of ballots cast in the election totaled 6,822, representing a turnout of 40.41% of the registered voters,” said Church.  “Our communities benefit when citizens take the time to study the issues and cast their votes, as was the case here,” he added. 

Immediately upon the close of polls on Election Day, the Registration & Elections Division began the Official Canvass of the Vote.  During the Canvass, Vote by Mail ballots and paper ballots cast at the Registration & Elections Division are added to the semi-official vote totals.  After which, a one percent manual tally of the votes is conducted to confirm the accuracy of the election.  The Chief Elections Officer officially certifies the results once the Canvass is completed in the 30 days following an election.

The official elections results, published in the Statement of the Vote, are posted on the San Mateo County Registration & Elections Division website, www.shapethefuture.org. Anyone may visit the website to review or download and print a complete copy of the Statement of the Vote.  This detailed report contains election results for the measure by overall turnout, turnout by precinct, and more.
