(Redwood City, CA) The random alpha drawing that is conducted to determine the letter to each measure that will appear on the November 5, 2013 Consolidated Municipal, School and Special District Election ballot will be held Thursday, August 15 at 11 a.m. at the Registration & Elections Division at 40 Tower Road in San Mateo.

“The randomized alphabet drawing is an important and impartial step in the process of creating the official ballot,” said Mark Church, Chief Elections Officer & Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder.

Election officials and interested members of the public will draw letters out of a basket to determine the letter to be assigned to represent each measure. Measures will be listed on the ballot in alphabetical order by School Districts and Cities.

The Secretary of State will also conduct a random alphabet drawing to determine the order of candidates appearing on the ballot for the November 5, 2013 Consolidated Municipal, School and Special District Election.

Information regarding candidates and the local measures is available on the Registration & Elections Division website at https://www.shapethefuture.org/elections/2013/nov/.
