(Redwood City, CA) The Registration & Elections Division will debut San Mateo County’s first voting system update since 2006 in the upcoming November 5, 2019 Consolidated Municipal, School and Special District Election.  The adoption of this new voting system will change the way voters in San Mateo County mark and cast their ballots.

"Spreading awareness of this new system will be a key part of our voter education and outreach plan for 2019,” said Mark Church, Chief Elections Officer and Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder. The public is invited to a hands-on demonstration of the new voting system at 455 County Center, Room 101 in Redwood City on Monday, September 16, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon.

The Dominion Suite voting system will provide San Mateo County voters with an intuitive, accessible and secure voting experience.  The system also provides state of the art security solutions above and beyond the requirements by law, and generates a printed, paper ballot when the voter has made their selections.  No votes are stored electronically, and no part of the voting system is connected to the internet at any time, nor does it electronically receive or transmit election data through any type of external communication network.

The Registration & Elections Division will perform public demonstrations in cities and school districts across the county as Election Day approaches.  For a complete list of these upcoming events visit: www.smcacre.org/calendar. Residents who cannot attend an event are encouraged to visit our offices at 40 Tower Road, San Mateo and 555 County Center, Redwood City during business hours to view our new voting system.
