(Redwood City, CA) Students from five County high schools are currently participating in the San Mateo County Registration & Election Division’s Poll Worker program for the November 7, 2017 Consolidated Municipal, School and Special District Election.

The program, called democracyLIVE!, was established to give students a greater awareness of the election process and the rights and responsibilities of voters while serving their community as Poll Workers.

“Student Poll Workers make an invaluable contribution to our democratic process by directly serving the voting public at the polls on Election day,” said Mark Church, Chief Elections Officer & Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder for San Mateo County. “The experience will also help these students become better-informed voters in the future,” he added.
