(Redwood City, CA) The Registration & Elections Division will continue to process all ballots as normal despite the Shelter-In-Place order issued by the County Health Officer on March 16. The election will be certified no later than April 1, 2020, meeting the statutory deadline.

While the Elections Division office at 40 Tower Road has been closed to the public, all services provided by the Registration & Elections Division remain available. Voters can mail their voter registration card, or register online, and can make an appointment if they wish to submit a petition. Voters who require direct assistance may contact the Elections Division as normal, at 650.312.5222 or registrar@smcgov.org.

The County is committed to ensuring the health and safety of its staff and the public by taking precautions that include social distancing, heightened vigilance about handwashing, and other protective measures.

The results of the election are certified upon completion of the canvass of the vote during the 30 days following an election, which includes a post-election audit of the votes to confirm the accuracy of the results that was conducted from March 10 through March 16.

The Official Election Results will be published in the Statement of the Vote and will be posted on the San Mateo County Registration & Elections Division website at www.smcacre.org.

The Statement of the Vote provides a complete breakdown of the election results, with vote totals that are shown by precinct and jurisdiction. Upon publication, anyone may review, download, or print a complete copy of the election results at www.smcacre.org.
