(Redwood City, CA) Today Mark Church, Chief Elections Officer & Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder for the County of San Mateo, officially certified the election results for the May 4, 2021 Portola Valley School District Special Mail Ballot Election.

Only one measure appeared on the ballot for the special election, a parcel tax measure that passed with the required 2/3s majority needed, with 1,972 or 75.12% votes in favor. Of the 5,478 registered voters, 2,627 or 47.96% voted in the election. Nearly all the ballots cast in this election were Vote by Mail ballots, 2,617 or 99.62%.

The results of the election are certified upon completion of the Canvass of the Vote during the 30 days following an election, which includes a One Percent Manual Tally of the votes to confirm the accuracy of the results.
