(Redwood City, CA) TSan Mateo County Chief Elections Officer Mark Church announced that the candidate filing period for the upcoming Board of Supervisors – Special Election on May 3, 2011 will open at 8 a.m. on January 10 and close at 5 p.m. on February 4. As there is no eligible incumbent for this office, the candidate filing period will not be extended.

“There are a number of well qualified individuals who have indicated that they intend to run for this office and offer their leadership to the voters of San Mateo County.  The quality of life on the Peninsula depends upon the public spirit and dedication of people who are willing to serve;” said Church, “I salute them for stepping forward to run for office.”
