San Mateo County Registration & Elections Division Offers Seminars for Interested Candidates and Campaigns

(Redwood City, CA) The Registration & Elections Division will hold two candidate seminars and a voter data seminar for potential candidates running for office or considering a run for office in the upcoming November 4, 2014 Statewide General Election.   

“The purpose of the seminars is to simplify the candidate filing process by providing candidates and interested parties with information on the requirements to run for office,” explained Mark Church, Chief Elections Officer & Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder. Topics covered will include campaign finance reports, the filing process, the calendar of applicable deadlines, required forms, candidate statements, voter registration guidelines, requirements for campaign signs, and various election resources.

Candidate Seminars (choose one session)

Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at 40 Tower Road, San Mateo
Thursday, July 17, 2014 at10:00 a.m. at 40 Tower Road, San Mateo

Voter Data Seminar

Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at 40 Tower Road, San Mateo

“Both first-time and veteran candidates can benefit from the seminars offered by the Registration & Elections Division.  During the candidate seminar, elections staff will discuss important details and responsibilities that apply to candidates for local office,” said Church.  “The voter data seminar provides candidates and campaigns with information on how to obtain the various forms of voter data and the many ways that data can be made available,” Church added.

All seminars are open to the public.
