San Mateo County Registration & Elections Division Offers Seminars for Interested Candidates and Campaigns

(Redwood City, CA) The Registration & Elections Division will hold two candidate seminars and a voter data seminar for potential candidates running for office or considering a run for office in the upcoming November 3, 2015 Consolidated Municipal, School and Special District Election.   

“During the seminars, elections staff will provide candidates and interested parties with an overview of the candidate filing process,” explained Mark Church, Chief Elections Officer & Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder. Topics covered will include campaign finance reports, the filing process, the calendar of applicable deadlines, required forms, candidate statements, voter registration guidelines, requirements for campaign signs, and various election resources.     

The schedule for the seminars is as follows:  

Candidate Seminars (choose one session)

Wednesday, July 8, 2015; 6:00 p.m. at 40 Tower Road, San Mateo
Thursday, July 16, 2015; 10:00 a.m. at 40 Tower Road, San Mateo

Voter Data Seminar

Thursday, July 23, 2015; 2:00 p.m. at 40 Tower Road, San Mateo

“The seminars cover information that first-time candidates as well as current officeholders will find useful. During the candidate seminar, elections staff will discuss the duties and responsibilities of local candidates,” said Church. “The voter data seminar provides candidates and campaigns with information on what data reports are available, how to obtain them and how much they cost,” Church added.
