The Candidate Guide
On December 14, 2010, the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors called a special all mail election to fill the vacancy on the Board of Supervisors in the 1st District that will be created when Supervisor Church assumes office as the newly elected Chief Elections Officer-Assessor - County Clerk - Recorder on Monday, Jan. 3, 2011 at noon.
Voters participating in the May 3, 2011 Board of Supervisors - Special Election will vote by mail unless they choose to vote in person at either of the Elections Offices or drop off their voted mail ballot at any City Hall in the county during regular business hours in the 29 days prior to the Election. Voters may also vote in person at one of the five (5) Voting Centers during the week before the election.
The candidate who receives the most votes will win.
The winner of this special election will become the next supervisor for the remainder of Supervisor Church's unexpired term of office which ends in January of 2013.
