The California Voter’s Choice Act requires all counties conducting elections under the Act to develop a Draft Election Administration Plan (EAP) and a detailed Voter Education and Outreach Plan. The goal of San Mateo County’s Draft EAP is to provide the public detailed information on the administration of elections under the California Voter’s Choice Act.

The EAP also includes the County’s Education and Outreach Plan which outlines in detail the County’s education and outreach plans and our efforts to increase accessibility to all voters, particularly voters with disabilities and language minorities.

A Public Hearing was held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 in the County Board of Supervisors Chambers located at 400 County Center, Redwood City for the public to comment on the County’s Draft EAP and the Voter Education and Outreach Plan.

The public was invited to view the Draft EAP and the Voter Education and Outreach Plan online. Public comment for the Draft EAP closed on January 18, 2018. The Chief Elections Officer will take all comments into consideration in creating an Amended Draft EAP and Voter Education and Outreach Plan.

The Amended Draft EAP and Voter Education and Outreach Plan will be posted online. Once the Amended Draft EAP is posted, a 14 day public comment period begins.

The Draft EAP may also be reviewed in person at the Registration & Elections Division Office located at 40 Tower Road, San Mateo. The facility is accessible to persons with disabilities. Individuals needing special assistance or accommodations are invited to visit or contact the Registration & Elections Division. Advanced notification of visits is recommended to allow the Division to make reasonable accommodations upon request.

After the 14 day public comment period for the Amended Draft EAP, the Final EAP may be adopted.
