(Redwood City, CA) Effective June 1, 2017, the Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder Schedule of Fees, as set forth in County Ordinance Code 2.90.030, will be adjusted to reflect a $3 increase for certain recording fees in accordance with action taken by the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors (Resolution No. 075141) to fund the County’s newly created Real Estate Fraud Prosecution Trust Fund.

The Real Estate Fraud Prosecution Trust Fund will be administered by the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office for the purpose of real estate fraud investigation and prosecution. 

The $3 recording fee adjustment will apply to the following real estate instruments, in accordance with Government Code Section 27388:

Abstract of Judgment, Affidavit, Amended Deed of Trust, Assignment of Deed of Trust, Assignment of Lease, Assignment of Rents, Construction Deed of Trust, Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions (CC&Rs), Declaration of Homestead, Deed of Trust, Easement, Lease, Lien, Lot Line Adjustment, Mechanics Lien, Modification of Deed of Trust, Notice of Completion, Notice of Default, Notice of Trustee’s Sale, Quitclaim Deed, Reconveyance, Release, Request for Notice, Rescission of Notice of Default, Subordination Agreement, Substitution of Trustee, Trustee’s Deed Upon Sale, and Uniform Commercial Code Amendment, Assignment, Continuation, Statement or Termination.
