The Naturalization Index dated from 1906, 1907-1925, 1918-1919, July 24, 1914 through June 8, 1917 are retained at the County Clerk’s Office Division. These indices are solely Petitions of Intent for Naturalization.

However, the Clerk’s Office has limited statutory jurisdiction with regards to Naturalization Records and the sole authority that can provide a copy of the naturalization certificate is USCIS. We can only provide the indexed information of a historical naturalization record to those who are authorized to receive it.

To examine the index book on site, requires an appointment by calling 650.363.4500 Extension 6063. For further findings and information pertaining to naturalization records, please contact the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) at 1.800.375.5283 or visit their website at uscis.gov.
