Limited Services Available
Effective October 1, 2020, the County Clerk-Recorder Division will reopen to the public on an appointment only basis.
The Assessor Division is not open to the public. Appraisal Services staff will be working remotely, and essential services will continue to be available on a limited basis. The public is encouraged to utilize the website, phone systems, emails and online Live Chat to obtain information and services.

The County Chapel is closed. Civil Wedding Ceremonies will continue to be held through video conferencing via Microsoft Teams. Marriage licenses will continue to be offered online in addition to in-person appointments.
Electronic recordings by title companies will continue as usual. Documents can also be mailed to the office at 555 County Center, First Floor, Redwood City, CA 94063.

All services provided by the Registration & Elections Division remain available. Voters can mail their voter registration card or register online, and are able to make an appointment if they wish to submit a petition. Voters who require direct assistance may contact the Elections Division by phone or text at 650.312.5222, email at firstname.lastname@example.org or utilize the Elections Live Chat feature.
The Registration & Elections Division at 40 Tower Road, San Mateo, CA, will serve as the sole Vote Center for the May 4, 2021 Portola Valley School District Special Mail Ballot Election.
Hours of operation for voting beginning on April 5 are as follows:
- Monday, April 5, 2021, through Monday, May 3, 2021;
8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Weekdays)
- Tuesday, May 4, 2021 (Election Day)
7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
